Cams
- 768cc 8V- 38hp
- This is the cam found in the Panda mk1
750, it was not tested.
- 999cc 8V- 45hp (base cam)
- This is the cam found in the Panda mk1/Uno,
it was the cam used for the base map.
- 999cc 8V- 55hp (4X4 cam)
- This is the cam found in the Panda mk1 4X4,
it produced 10hp over base.
- 1108cc 8V- 55hp (SPI)
- This is the cam found in the Punto 55
mk1, it
produced 4.6hp over base.
- 1108cc 8V- 65hp (MPI)
- This is the cam used in the
Seicento mk2, it produced 13.6hp over
base.
- 1242cc 8V- 60hp (mk1 SPI/mk2
MPI)
- This is the cam used in the Punto 60 mk1, it
produced 2.5hp over base.
- 1242cc 8V- 75hp (MPI)
- This is the cam used in the Punto 75 mk1*, it
produced 15.4hp over base.
Note: These tests were performed on a stock
999cc SPI engine (fresh rebuild with complete break in), results on
other engines may vary.
* There is no mk2 Punto 75, the mk2 engine is MPI but only
produces ~60hp.
Heads
- 768cc 8V
- I do not have access to this head for
testing yet.
- 999cc 8V
- This head is very restrictive and can be
improved on with mild porting. Intake
valves are 30mm and exhaust are 27mm. Flowbench testing
indicated flow for 200hp.
- 1108cc 8V
- This head flows much better then the 999
head and can be improved further with
porting.
- 1242cc 8V SPI
- This is the same head as the 1108cc 8V.
- 1242cc 8V MPI
- This is the best flowing head on the 8V
engines and can still be improved on with
porting. Testing of the stock head
indicated flow for 250hp, flowbench testing
on my ported head indicated flow for 350+hp
but I doubt anyone can get a FIRE engine to these power
levels without a large investment..
Note: Flowbench testing was done
on the stock head with no porting or polishing.
All heads are interchangeable except on to the
768cc because the valves will hit the sides of the bore.
